Two Core Assessments

Capability to Handle Complexity (CHC) Assessment

We can measure the stage of Capability to Handle Complexity a person has developed to.

This tells us how a person approaches their work, the Level of Work the person will optimally perform and develop at, and when the person is likely to be ready for a bigger challenge, among other things.

Complexity of Work

(CoW) Assessment

We can measure the complexity inherent in a role or project, also referred to as the Level of Work (LoW).

When a person is matched to the complexity of their work it is good for everyone; the work gets done and the person develops.

CHC Assessment Process

30-45 Minute Interview-Assessment

The interview-assessment is conducted over zoom. We ask open ended questions about issues facing society to get you to think out loud.

The assessment works on the level of perception, sort of like a Rorschach inkblot test, but with real time verbal reasoning. As you reason through our questions, unconscious patterns emerge in your answers that reveal the filter that you see the world through. This filter, or lens, naturally structures your approach to solving complex problems and changes each time you transition to a new stage of Capability to Handle Complexity. The assessment is not dependent on specific topics and is not a test of your knowledge, we are getting at the way you interact with complex issues.

Proprietary Analysis

We analyze the transcript to measure current CHC and projected future development.

Produce Report

We produce a Problem Solving Profile, which provides the individual with feedback on how he or she approaches solving complex problems. The report also includes insight into how their Problem Solving Profile can change over their career.

Private Debrief

We debrief the individual one-on-one.

Report To Project Lead

We have a conversation with you about what we learned from the assessments and how these insights can help you achieve your goal, be it growing your people, your business or something else.

CoW Assessment Process

Send Role Information

Send us the information you have about the role and your organizational chart. Ideally we would like to see a role description, or whatever documentation you have about the purpose of the role and its work.

Interview

We interview the person with the most knowledge about the purpose of the role and the nature of the work.

Normally the person who the role reports to, or who is most dependent on the output of the role’s work.

Proprietary Analysis

We analyze the role information and information gathered from the interview.

Report Produced

We create a report on the complexity inherent in the work based on the Level of Work that we have determined in the role. Sometimes we detect multiple Levels of Work in a single role, In these cases we can provide optimization recommendations.

Report To Project Lead

We have a conversation with you about what we learned from the assessment(s) and how these insights can help you achieve your goal, be it growing your people, your business or something else.

These assessments can be supplemented with additional coaching and consulting services to fully apply our powerful Human Capital Technology in your organization.

The Stages of CHC

People Develop through stages of Capability to Handle Complexity (CHC). Each stage comes with a different approach to solving complex problems, and a different Level of Work (LoW) that the person is naturally attracted to and capable of handling.
